Philosophical Study Of The Heart And Brain Relationship

The mind-brain problem is one of the most important questions in science and philosophy. The research of this question has significant meaning to the basic problem of philosophy and epistemology. It also provides ways of thinking in the research of science. In order to discuss the mind-brain problem, let's begin with the research of these two basic concepts: mind and brain. There are two lines in this part: soul- mind- consciousness; flesh- body- brain. I think, mind is information processing. It is based on brain and other assistant structures. It can be perceived by human being and it can adjust the state , guide the behavior of human being. Brain is the nerve center of animal and human being. It is the result of evolution and it is consisted of millions of nerve cells. There are three stages in the research history of mind-brain problem. The first one is ancient natural philosophy on the relation between soul and flesh. The second one is neoteric natural philosophy on the relation between mind and body. The last one is modern natural philosophy on the relation between mind, consciousness and brain. In these three stages, ancient natural philosophy and neoteric natural philosophy have the unilateral characteristic. The modern natural philosopher's view of the relation between mind and brain is more complete than the ancient one, but it still should be improved.Based on the discussion of modern natural philosopher's view, I think,mind and consciousness are emergent events that based on the physiological brain function. The emergency of mind takes place only under these conditions :① Brain and other assistant structures;② The information expression structure;③The stimulation situation. Brain is the physical organ from where mind is emergent; The assistant structures are the facility on which the emergency depends; The information expression structure is the cognitive structure of human being. It is the condition under which information can be processed and It is mind itself. The stimulation situation is the practical condition .It provides data and information for mind. So I think, the answer to the mind-brain problem is: First of all, mind is depends on brain; Second, mind is independent to some degree; What ' s more, mind can react to brain effectively.
