AbstractTaking the development of Drilling Fluid Database System(DFDS) as the research target, this article carries out a systematic study on the principle of develop and design of drilling fluid database management system by theories of relation database and method of soft-engineering.The article begins with data model, with the theories of binary relation, function dependence and Fan's, establish the measures of query and the safety of database, which provides theories for developping DFDS in detail. DFDS has collected and sorted scientifically lots of the drilling fluid information data, then it brings up the general model of DFDS (entity-relation model) and defines the table structure, and sums up a more reasonable data table norm structure. Combining database technology and designment of object-oriented, the author deduces the structure system of DFDS, which establishs a basement for promoting the system; by adopting data export and data import ,the system has ability of data-backing and data-renewing. And by marking of the user, the system enhances the security of system data. Additionally, the management system with the function of data management, data maintain, data query, query&statistics .etc. is designed.
