Recently, the research on Vif has revealed a novel component of innate immune system, APOBEC3G(CEM15), which is a cytidine deaminase and lethally hypermutates retroviruses and retro-elements. APOBEC3G that belongs to APOBEC family acts in DNA editing to block the replication of retroviruses such as HIV-1. In fact, APOBEC3G is able to defense a wide spectrum of distantly related retroviruses and interferes with HBV through a different mechanism from HIV. APOBEC3G(CEM15) is a cellular protein required for resistance to infection by human immunodeficiency virus type-1, and has been shown to be a cytidine deaminase which is incorporated into virions and subsequently triggers massive deamination of deoxycytidine to deoxyuridine within the retroviral minus strand cDNA. Vif which is a minor protein encoded by HIV-1 often plays an important role in viral replication of HIV-1.Only in the virus-producing cell Vif expression is necessary, in its absence, infection of a subsequent target cell terminates at a postentry step through the action of an innate antiviral mechanism. Vif protein has two domains: one binds to APOBEC3G and the other regulates the degradation of APOBEC3G by a conserved sequence, SLQ (Y/F) LA motif. Vif protein induces rapid degradation of APOBEC3G by ubiquitination, which is a proteosome dependent pathway. As CEM15 may be a new way to cure AIDS, so it is very important to people. But we now know little about it, we should analyze it carefully. In this paper, we do this by bioinformatics ways. The gene was analyzed for PI, Mw, Amino acid content, Hydrophobicicy, protein secondary structure, motif, domain, superfamily and electronic expression pattern, Position on Chromosome by bioinformatics methods. The originality of the dissertation is as follows: 1) The dissertation reviews the research of CEM15(APOBEC3G) and which way this gene make its use. 2) Analyzed CEM15 by the tools in the INTERNET. 3) Analyzed APOBEC3G. 4) Phylogenetic analysis of CEM15(APOBEC3G). 5) silico clone a new CEM15 gene of Bos taurus.
