In this thesis, the models and algorithm of lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) are studied. On those bases, the LBM program using non-uniform body-fitted mesh is developed to simulate the flows around airfoil.Originally, lattice Boltzmann method was used to simulate incompressible flow with uniform orthogonal mesh. To simulate the various curvilinear boundary layer accurately, Generalized form of Interpolation supplemented LBM (GILBM) is introduced. Generalized form of Interpolation supplemented LBM (GILBM) is based on Interpolation Supplemented LBM (ISLBM). GILBM has an ability to simulate the complex flow on arbitrary body-fitted mesh. Meanwhile, the suitable boundary condition is introduced to adapt the body-fitted mesh.In this thesis, simulations of cavity flow and the flow around an airfoil at low Reynolds numbers are carried out. The flow characteristics are analyzed. The results obtained by LBM agree well with the previous numerical results. Thus the LBM has been used as a promising method in computational fluid dynamics.
