Massive Raster Data Organization And Management Of Multi-scale Study

It is a complicated topic to organize and manage the multi-scale mass grid data, involves the computer technique, communication technique, surveying and mapping and the geography science etc,and is at present and from now on one of the hot problems in GIS fields. In this paper, the author discuss the technique methods of the organizations and managements of the multi-scale mass grid data systematically.First, from the aspect of obtaining and processing the grid space data , the author introduces in detail how to prepare it, including image scanning, image rectifying, image clipping and the geometrical transformation of image etc., prepares the data for the following storing data and establishing the pyramid structure and quad-tree index, and emphasizes on introducing the design principle of the geometrical transformation software.Secondly, in the aspect of storing data, the article introduces in detail how to store and manage the multi-scale mass grid data in the database( Oracle9i) ,and resolves the problems of storing large images in database, and gives examples.Thirdly ,the article discusses how to build the image pyramid structure and quad-tree index on the base of storing in database, the purpose is to provide the functions that the multi-scale grid data stores in database, data picking-up, data searching, data indexing and data wandering etc..Finally, gives the technique method and examples of real-time and fast manifestation of the grid data in screen.The paper in the end concludes the research results and the further research problems, and carries on the prospects.
