Along with the continuous consuming of the mineral resources and the continuous enlargement of difficulty for ore-finding, people urgent to use a new technical means to find ore in the new situation. With the special advantage, remote-sensing develops an important function, and produces a good social and economic performance.The research area is belong to the plentiful wood district surrounded by high mountain. And the ground is seriously covered with the plant. To this area the application of traditional method for ore-finding will lead to a bad result and a long period, and will cost much more, so making use of the modern remote-sensing technical method to guide the work of ore-finding can receive a good result.This research makes use of the TM multi-band image data of Landsat-5 which is also the main data source for this research. Using the software of PCI7.0, the author processes the TM image of the research area and extracts the mineralization information for the purpose of mineralization forecasting. Firstly, the author collects the geological and remote-sensing data of the research area, and pretreats the TM image data. Then by the work of outside all the important geological phenomenon and the mineralization point are investigated on the spot. Finally, the processing synthetically of TM image data and the research work are done. In the research the whole research area is divided into thirteen small mine area whose TM image data is proceeded and studied respectively, and in order to extract the mineralization information and produce the new mineralization zone many methods of image processing such as principal analysis, band-ratio analysis, TM mask, image segmentation are adopted. At the same time three kinds of remote-sensing ore-finding information are studied as the special subject for discovering the mineralizing and ore-controlling characteristics.Synthesizing the result of image processing and combination to the geological data of the research area the geological and the remote-sensing ore prospecting model is established respectively, so the total ore-finding frame is also formed. And by studying the multi-information of ore-finding deeply, such as mineralization information, ore-controlling tectonic, source bed, regional geological background, six ore-finding forecasting zones are confirmed, which will have very important present implication for the sustainable development of the mineral resources to this area.
