The method of lead chemical phase analysis in lead and zinc concentrate was developed. The mechanics and applications of chemical phase analysis were introduced and its development was reviewed. The property of lead and its compound was summarized in brief. Fully considering the requirement of the technique of refining lead, the lead phases in the lead and zinc concentrate were divided into three classes of soluble lead oxide, lead sulfide, and insoluble lead oxide. Based on the classification, a new method of lead phases analysis in the lead and zinc concentrate was developed.Soluble lead oxide can be extracted by 15% ammonium acetate and 3% acetyl hydrate. Ascorbic acid is added to eliminate the effect of Fe~3+ which can partly dissolve PbS . Soluble lead sulfide can be extracted from the residue by 10% hydrogen peroxide, 15% ammonium acetate and 5% acetyl hydrate. The insoluble lead oxide is remained in the residue. The lead in the extracting solution and residue is analyzed by atomic absorption spectrometry . Then the extracting conditions , such as the dosage of acetyl hydrate ,ammonium acetate ,ascorbic acid and hydrogen peroxide, the time of lixiviating ,the granularity of ore etc, were optimized. The pretreatment of residue and extracting solution and the determination methods of lead were studied to promote the precision and accuracy. At last time, the theory and means of chemical phase analysis and the experimental aberration was researched. The precision and accuracy were proved by the standard addition method and repeated determination. The result shows that the method is simple and precise .It can be applied to analyze the lead chemical phase in lead and zinc concentrate.
