Common crane (Grus grus) is a large migratory wading birds that widely spread, list the second class of protection bird of China. The amount of this specie in China can reach 21632-22401 during winter. It is found that Common crane selected Yeyahu wetland as their winter habitat for continuously few years, the amount remained around 400 and become the biggest Common crane's winter habitat in Beijing area. To manage Yeyahu wetland Nature Reserve and protect Common crane, the primary work mainly covers investigate the living condition of crane in Yeyahu wetland, and analysis the factor which effect habitat selection. In this article, based on multi-satellite remote sensing data, 1:50000 topography map and records of wild investigation, the habitats of Common crane in Yeyahu Wetland is classified into five types, which are farming land, woods land, grass land, wet land, orchard, water area, and fishing pond. The research of common crane winter habitat selection is focused on common crane's microhabitat. Line transects of systemic sampling and random transects were used in the surveys for Common crane .using GPS positioned latitude & longitude and recorded for samples, then the interpretation of remote sensing image would be testified. 752 samples were gained and establish vector point layer in Arcgis software, Among them, common crane present in 152 samples called active plots, and absent in other 602 samples called inactive ones. Interpretated the multi-source RS data, then come to the vector layer as common crane's habitat types . Through observation and compound analysis, the principle factors of common crane winter habitat selection was identified. By using the function of spatial analyze in Argis, the distance between active plot and habitat selecting factors was measured. By Independent-Sample t Test of SPSS 3.0, the test of variables with significant differences was carried on. None-difference factors were omitted, and all the factors with significant differences include quantitative factor and qualitative factor deal with in SPSS software, then the principal components of common crane winter habitat selection was finally gained. There are five principal components of common crane winter habitat selection around Yeyahu wetland. The first one is human-disturbance factor which is the most effective; the second is water factor, including 'Distance To Water' and 'Distance To Wetland'; the third is food factor, including 'Distance To Farming 'and 'Distance To Grass'; the fourth is landscape factor, including landscape type(quantitative factor) and qualitative landscape factor such as 'Distance To Grass'; the fifth factor is cover factor, include factor of 'aspect' and so on.The core factors of common crane winter habitat selection in Yeyahu wetland can be summarized into 3 points: 1. Avoiding human activities; 2. Meeting the food, water and other...
