Kunming is located in the east of YunGui Plateaus.the South-west edge of Yangzi Bed.The Geological hazard often occur in the influence of topographical ground feature, geologic tructure, stratum rock gender, river and humanity engineering activity in recent years. Geological hazard strongly threaten human beings' life, wealth, safeness and have been the obstacle to the sustainable development of regional socety and economy.The paper study geological hazard of Kunming in the point of system.On the basis of out—site inspection and detailed analysis of geology data, the author summaries the geological hazard type,scale and development feature of Kunming Geological hazard. Based on them and combined with the character of the geologec hazard of Kunming, the author finally finished the occurrence deci-district of Kunming. The result can be expressed as very high probable, high probable, mid-probable and low probale geological hazard, and the author have a sketchy evaluations.The factor which affecting the geological disater's accurence and development in Kunming is various, as nature factors and man-made factors.In order to objectively reflect the regional danger of geological hazard district, basing on the development and analysis of the geological hazard fomulation and combining with the character of GIS, the author choose the leading factors which deeply influenced on geological hazard to estalish the quantization index syestem for the the danger of geological hazard district in Kunming. Finally useing the modle of the danger of geological hazard district in Kunming with ArcGIS, we finished the danger of geological hazard district in Kunming. Afeter turning the map of grid into vector, the author evaluate the character of the danger of geological hazard distric on the premise of considering sufficiently topograph. According to the result of the danger of geological hazard district, contrasting the status quos of geological hazard, the very high-risk zonation and high-risk zonation account for 30.1% area of Kunming, but they account for 72.3% geological hazards which have been found. The mostly large and middle landslip and debris flow is distributed in the above-mentioned areas, in a certain proved the exactness of zonation.The finish of the map of the occurrence deci-district and the danger of geological hazard distric in Kunming will provide good consult and guidance for prevention and warning system of geological hazard in Kunming.and this will provide good consult to research the geological hazard in Yunan provice too.
