Geographic Information System (gis) Is Applied Research In The Tourism Industry

With the development of Tourism and Information Technology, Tourism Geographical Information System(TGIS) has come into being, which made the development of tourism step into the era of digitization. With regard to the study on the application of Geographical Information System(GIS) in tourism,it is still at a primitive phase for domestic researchers.The definition,designed structure,and the content of TGIS have not been clearly defined in the field.Therefore,a systematic study on the application of Geographical Information System in tourism appears to be very necessary and important.Before,the studies on the Tourism Geographical Information System (TGIS) and its representative software-- Google Earth were mostly focused on the level of introduction and the analysis of its functions and advantages.The study selected Google Earth as the case of TGIS' product, analyzed its design principle,functional modules and elaborated its advantage in tourism,based on the analysis of the designed structure and functional modules of Tourism Geographical Information System. Moreover,through the comparison with relevant software--NASA World Wind,the study put forward the advice and prospect to the future development of TGIS and Google Earth.
