The acquisition and production of basic geographic spatial information are the important part of the basic establishment for joint operations digital battlefield, and are the basic of the base for the campaign command and all the operations. Fusing the fresh data of different department to produce the one with better currency, higher accuracy is main work of military surveying and mappingThe paper outspreads study around the key technology in the three stages of data fusion: data integration, data generalization and relation process, mainly including:1. The paper analyzes the otherness of the data source, and brings forward the conception of the data fusion for basic geographic information, and analyzes the mechanism and the process of the basic geographic data fusion. The paper puts forward the technical frame of this paper based on the martial task of the mapping production for 1:50000 joint operations maps.2. The paper brings forward the technical flow of data integration, and studies the transform and unification methods for different coordinate systems, projection generations, data formats and encodings, establishing the integrative data management and viewable platform for the data fusion based on the hereinbefore techniques.3. The paper brings forward the thinking of optimizing and compositing the arithmetic relating data generalization, Douglas arithmetic and the improved Li-Openshaw arithmetic to actualize integration on the same linear feature; and establish the mathematical model to evaluate the curve integration arithmetic by using hierarchy analytical method.4. The paper does some research on the recognition of area feature, and realizes the arithmetic of the contour simplification for inhabited area and vegetation based on the hereinbefore technique; and brings the non-linear programming method of the operational research into the evaluation of the area feature's simplification arithmetic, and establishes the corresponding mathematical model, and then confirm the threshold value of the parameter in the simplifying process. The paper realizes the area feature's exaggerating expression by using the arithmetic of the buffer generation.5. The paper studies the relationship between point and line, and studies the topologic relationship between lines, and use the production to deal with the superposition and combination of the GPS data; and use the BSP model to study the relationship between line and area, and detects and disposing the relationship between road and area inhabited area by using those study productions; doing some pilot study about the comparability relationship based on the character and the RVM lines, applying those study productions in local interpolation disposal of the contour lines.6. The paper implements the application of Basic Geographic Data Fusion. The study productions are used in the digital map cartographic system of joint operations, and obtain good effect.
