Bioleaching technology has developed rapidly today, because different bacteria has different advantagesa, the mixed bacteria may increase the leaching efficiency, so using mixed bacteria to oxidize ores has become one of hot research today. It is well known that Thiobacillus ferrooxidans(T.f) play an important role in mineral bioleaching, and in some conditions Thiobacillus thiooxidans(T.t) was investigated to enhance the bioleaching ability of T.f. Pyrite often coexists with many other minerals and plays an importance in bioleaching. in this paper, we choose pyrite as the experiment material.First, T.f and T.t were isolated by the metod of "sodium salt flat" from the uranium mineral of Shihongtan in Xinjiang province, and identified in morphological and physiological characteristics. according to the description of Thiobacillus ferrooxidans(T.f) and Thiobacillus thiooxidans(T.t) in "Berger bacterial identification manual" (eighth edition), the T.f and T.t we isolated are tally with the description.Second, By comparing the difference of some mediums of T.f and T.t., we obtain a medium which can allow all of both growing in it. By researching the growing traits of T.f and T.t in the new medium, we make sure of it. comparing the bioleaching results of the pyrite under different conditions, we find the best pyrite bioleaching condition demonstrated:at the initial PH 2.5; the temperature is 25℃; and T.f:T.t=5:1; the particle size of ores<50um and the concentration of ore is 5%. After experiment we using laser Raman and scanning electron microscopy to analysis the secondary minerals on the pyrite surface, and the results show that adding T.t can reinforce the bioleaching ability of T.f.Finaly, we also use the uranium ore associated with pyrite do the bioleaching experiment under the best bioleaching conditions of pyrite, the results show that the leaching rate of pyrite by T.f and T.t was about 10.5% higher than that by T.f alone.By studying the synergism of T.f and T.t on the bioleaching of pyrite, this research can provide theoretical reference for bioleaching and according to the significance of the pyrite in bioleaching behavior, it can also provide magnificent significance for bioleaching.
