This project is about desulfurization experiment of coal which contain different mineral compositions using Thiobacillus ferrooxidans separated from coal pile water.Experiments were carried out on three conditions that of coal pretreated with acid,different temperatures and initial p H.Analysing the factors influence coal sulfur removal efficiency.Domesticating Thiobacillus ferrooxidans take the coal as culture medium.The results showed that: the total sulfur,sulfate sulfur,pyrite sulfur,organic sulfur and ash content of acid treatment coal decreased,and heat value increased.Desulfurization efficiency of unacidified Liuzhi coal,Rongshan Coal,Xishan coal was 29%,4%,3% separately after 10 days.The value was 40%,41%,4% after acidification.Acidification impact on decreasing ash content and increasing calorific value much larger than biological desulfurization for Xishan coal,but the impact was similar for Liuzhi and Rongshan coal.The optimum desulfurization temperature of Liuzhi coal was 35?,the desulfurization efficiency was 52%.The optimum desulfurization temperature of Rongshan coal was 30 ?,the efficiency was 54%.But the desulfurization efficiency of Xishan coal was not high at any temperature,about 3%.The best p H value of coal sulfur removal was 2.3,the desulfurization efficiency of Liuzhi coal,Rongshan coal,Xishan coal was 54%,67%,4% respectively.Followed by p H 2.0,the desulfurization efficiency was 49%,54%,4% respectively.The p H 3.0 was worst,and the desulfurization efficiency was 30%,41%,3% respectively.The activity of bacteria was higher domesticated by Liuzhi coal and Rongshan coal than Xishan coal.The desulfurization efficiency was 61%,72%,6%respectively.Throughout the whole experiment,the total sulfur removal was removal of pyrite sulfur mainly,the removal efficiency of organic sulfur was poor,and the content only decreased 0.1% to 0.4%.
