Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is one of the most important processes converting heavy oil to light oils,producing gasoline, LCO (Light cycle oil) and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum gas)., Heavy oil (or residue) FCC is defined as processing the atmospheric residue or vacuum residue. Because of the limitation of oil resources in the world and the increase in demand, the depth conversion of heavy oil and light oil refining industry will remain a major development strategy. As the sulfur content of crude oil quality and oil becoming heavier, catalytic cracking technology is ever increasing, and there are a large number of processing high carbon residue, high metal content of the raw materials of plant into operation. How to improve heavy catalytic cracking process, is still an important issue needs to resolve.Ultrastable SRY zeolite and CC-20D catalyst was prepared. The composition, structure properties of SRY molecular sieve catalyst and CC-20D catalyst was investigated. The activity of the of CC-20D and super-stable catalysts was studied in small-scale fluidized bed reactor. CC-20D Catalyst for FCC was applied successfully in Chinese Petroleum Corporation-Ta Lin Refinery. The effect of the feed oil quality on the performance of CC-20D catalyst was discussed in catalytic cracking reaction.Ultrastable SRY zeolite has the characteristics of uniform aluminum distribution, low extra frame work aluminum , rich frame work silicon and good thermal and hydrothermal stabilities. Compared with super-stable catalysts, SRY zeolite has a strong heavy oil conversion capacity and coke selectivity. CC-20D catalyst exhibited the good catalytic activity, product selectivity and stability. When the contents of heavy metals V (17.05 ppm) and carbon residue (4.1w%) were increased, the total liquid yield still reached above 78.5%, and gasoline yield remained 49%.
