The paper has developed a thermal function material for one king of missile which can afford the following capabilities:thermal insulation, suitability to machine and resistance to intense temperature change.A sort of insulating mould coating based on solvent-free polyurethane-epoxy resin was explored where a big molecule with NCO and flexible structure was synthesized and then react with epoxy and epoxy hardener in turn. Some special pigments and fillers were mixed with the resin and a insulating mould coating was gotten. The factors of influencing the producing the resin and the performances of the coating were discussed. When the ratio of the modified epoxy resin and normal epoxy resin arrives 3:1, dosage of curing agent for the resin 75%, dosage of glass microsphere for the resin 40%, the thermal conductivity could reach 0.2 W/m·K and heat reflection coefficient is greater than 70%. A kind of covering that set multi-function, heat reflection, thermal barrier, good toughness in low temperature and good machinable performance at room temperature, in one has been got.
