The article studied the effect of solid acid catalyst on the esterification, and modified Hβzeolite based on the study. Prepare the catalyst by impregnation with different mass of phosphomolybdate, carrying on Hβ. The catalysts were characterized by IR, XRD and TPD.The synthesis of n-butyl lactate was carried in a batch reactor by the orthogonal method to obtain the most appropriate reaction conditions. The results showed that temperature is the first factor affecting the conversion of lactic acid, followed by the catalyst loading and ratio of the acid to alcohol, and finally the mass of catalyst.In addition, study the kinetic of synthesis of n-butyl lactate over Hβzeolite. The temperature changes in the range of 353.15K to 403.15K. The results showed that: the esterification of lactic acid with n-butyl obeys the second order. Get the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor.The n-butyl lactate was synthesized from lactic acid and n-butyl alcohol over the catalyst of zeolite of Hβin a catalytic rectification tower which wasΦ30mm and the height of 2000mm and studying the influence of process conditions. The feeding site of lactic acid was 2nd theory column plate and that of n-butanol was 14th theory column plate. The reflux ratio was 1 and the space velocity of lactic acid was 0.82h-1.The filler wasθ-rings which made by 316L. The ratio of the height of rectifying section, reacting section and stripping section is 1:1:1. Under the conditions mentioned, After stable, the content of n-butyl lactate in the bottom of tower was 97.14%(w%).Using the NRTL-HOC method, the catalytic distillation experiment was simulated by the software-Aspen plus, the simulation results showed that catalytic distillation process model were similar to the results of experimental process values. It provided a reference for enlarging the scale of the block in the future.
