Dendrimers has just appeared, they are perfectly structured moLecules with large numbers of cascade-branched units emerging from a central core, resulting in dense end groups at the moLecular surface. The processes for the synthesis of dendrimers and the characteristics of dendrimers, both of which differ conspicuously from those of traditional polymers, greatly affect their physical and chemical properties. Dendrimers have attracted the concern of researchers in various fields. In this thesis, the literature on dendrimers is reviewed, including the history of research on this topic, the methods used to synthesize dendrimers, and their moLecular structure, characteristics, and application.Polyamine dendrimers were the first dendrimers to be developed, and many applications of these polymers are now being widely used. In this issue, I had synthesized the dendrimer with a triethanolamine core by the divergent method. And in the experiment, I tried to use the microwave to promote the synthesis of dendrimer to shorten the reaction time and increase the yield. The results show that microwave synthesis is better than the ordinary method.In terms of application, in order to prepare a well-dispersed gold nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles were synthesized by microwave radiation of these PAMAM dendrimer. In this experiment, I studied the interaction between dendrimer and HAuCl4, and the impact of different generations of dendrimers on the size and dispersion of gold nanoparticles.To G1.5 and G2.0 as an example, through the data show that microwave synthesis is better than the ordinary method.In the experiment, we found that gold nanoparticles was prepared by the low generation of PAMAM dendrimer is less stable, and preservation can not be long, so I try to improve dendrimer with methyl thioglycolate. I intend to use the strong coordination between -SH and Au3+ to prepared gold nanoparticles with good stability.
