The control system of skin pass mill consists of Automatic Position Control, Automatic Force Control and Elongation Control generally. The skin pass mill often takes the pressure close system to keep the pressure stable when it precedes constant-rolling pressure control. Besides, dynamic setting AGC can also achieve the performance. In order to improve the stability of the rolling force during the rubbing process, dynamic setting AGC is used in the system of the skin pass mill. According to the stability of the rolling force, we can judge the effect of the two methods.Dynamic setting AGC keeps the hydraulic cylinder moves synchronously. That is to say, the position of hydraulic cylinder stays in the same plane. When the transverse gauge of the strip steel is not well-distributed or the transverse temperature is not well-distributed which makes the transverse mechanical property is not homogeneous, if the hydraulic cylinder still moves synchronously, the rolling force deviation of the rolling mill on the two sides will become larger. The phenomenon is not advantageous to keep the stability of the rolling force. In the paper, an advanced model of the dynamic setting AGC is obtained to keep its stability. The experiment approves that the advanced model can achieve better performance.An experiment is carried out to study the stability of the rolling force when it takes the advanced model and closed loop of the pressure respectively. In the experiment, the rolling force is set 35 Ton and 42 Ton separately, and the constant-pressure process is preceded. During the experiment the rolling force is tested, and after data handling the curves are drawn by matlab. The experiment approves that the advanced model can achieve the best performance of the three methods.At last, a computer controlled system which is controlled by PID is developed. The parameters of the PID are obtained by matlab/simulink.
