The paper introduces the status and development trend of the tower mill. First, it revolves structural parameters and operating parameters of the tower mill to study. After analyzing the movement and force characteristics of mineral aggregate, it explores the relation of parameter between speed, blender blade helix angle, helix diameter and carries out medium in the simulation analysis. Finally, done the test of mineral aggregate crushing. The main content of this paper is as follows:1. In this paper,we have analyzed the Movement and stress distribution of mineral aggregate in the stirred tank and got the distribution in stirred tank wall, the screw axis and the helical blade.2. we analyze radial velocity difference and pressure distribution of mineral aggregate. It gets that the large speed difference instead of large speed is good for improving the grinding efficiency. Besides,fix selections of stirrer radius defined.3. Axial movement of mineral aggregate was also analyzed in the paper, we use MATLAB software to compute absolute speed and involved speed and reveal the variation of speed difference as the mixer helix angle changes, then we get the best helix angle against bauxite. The result of speed analysis demonstrates that tower mill has critical speed and the reasonable stirring speed was established according to specific size prototype.4. The paper uses CFD software to simulation flow of stirred tank. The simulation result demonstrates that velocity gradient is big and grinding effect is good in the end of stirrer diameter. It verifies the correctness of theoretical analysis.5. This article applies orthogonal experimental program verifies theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results.According to the analysis of the results, we obtained valuable conclusion that provide a theoretical basis for optimal design of tower mill.
