UV-curable pressure sensitive acrylic adhesives achieved quick growth for its advantages as high efficiency, energy saving and"green"since its development. In this paper, a UV-curable pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive with good combination properties was prepared using self-synthesized acrylic tackifying resin, photo-initiator pre-polymers and reactive diluents. It can be used for low-energy surface's adhesion such as BOPET films and PP synthetic papers.Firstly, the acrylic tackifying resin with good initial adhesion and 180°peel strength was synthesized with butyl-acrylate(BA), ethylhexyl acrylate(2-EHA) and vinyl acetate as monomers through solution polymerization. The factors that influencing product conversion rate, viscosity, tack and 180°peel strength such as different monomers and their ratios, proportion of initiators, chain transfer agent concentration and reaction time were researched through lots of experiments, and finally the optimal formula and reaction conditions were found.Secondly, UV-curable pressure sensitive adhesives with good adhesion properties were prepared based on self-synthesized tackifying resin, suitable photo-initiator, pre-polymers and reactive diluents. Factors influencing the UV-curing acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive'adhesion properties such as photo-initiator ratio, irradiation time, proportions of pre-polymers and reactive diluents were also discussed in this paper, and then the optimum proportion of tackifying resin, pre-polymer and photo-initiator was obtained. And the microstructure and phase transition was researched through the total reflection FT-IR and DSC tests on the adhesives with different curing time, and the UV curing mechanism was theoretically analyzed.Finally, the pressure sensitive adhesive's thermal-oxidative aging properties were tested, and it was found that the products have good anti-thermo-oxidative aging properties after enough UV irradiation.
