Expanded granular sludge blanket (EGSB) reactor is the third generation anaerobic reactor, which based on the UASB reactor. Compared with UASB reactor, the effluent recycling system of EGSB reactor makes the velocity of liquid up flow higher than UASB reactor, but its high ratio of height and diameter, makes it difficult to be builded and repaired, especially when sewage is in quantity, and the effluent recycling system not only consume more energy, but also cost more operating expenses, so as to limits the application of EGSB reactor.Owing to this, in order to enhance the rate of expanded sludge with the assistance of methane bubble vibration dint and methane bubble vortex agitation dint, further decrease the consumption of power and conserve operating expenses, author designed a new EGSB Reactor.In medium temperature situations, new EGSB system could be rapidly started up during a lag time as short as 65d with implanting digester sludge, achieving a good characteristic of granular sludge. New EGSB reactor could increase the organic load quickly after the startup process, and the ability to restrict shock loading is good. New EGSB reactor was capable of stable eliminating COD from domestic wastewater with a removal rate of 90% above on average with hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 24h at a high organic load of 24000mg/L. At the same time, at medium temperature, the new EGSB reactor holds the well capability of resisting pH impulsion and degradation VFA when influent pH is 6.56~7.89.Under the warm condition, the ammonia nitrogen mass concentration based on this increases (is smaller than 200mg/L) is advantageous to the reactor COD elimination rate enhancement, but the high ammonia nitrogen mass concentration, will have affected in the reactor the pellet sludge structure stability, will create the pellet sludge disintegration, reactor's performance characteristic worsening.Should in the sludge produce the methane activeness activeness to elevate in the first 3 months, 4th month sludge activeness tends the steady change is not obvious. The reactor steady operation stage (experiments first 3 months), in the reactor the sludge produces the methane activeness fluctuation not to be bigger.The new EGSB reactor anaerobic fermentation release's gas and the cloth aqueous system produce the ascending current causes in the reactor the sludge simultaneously to receive soaks inspires the strength, to soak the trailing vortex to mix infiltrates the strength and the fluent shearing force and so on several strength combined actions, the above strength under the air deflector guidance function, has formed the strength comprehensive sphere of action, raised the sludge bed expansion rate, has accelerated the mass transfer and the biochemistry reaction rate.
