A large number of vanadium titanium magnetite, which is the main raw materialfor blast furnace,had been found in Chengde region. Although the blast furnace smeltingof vanadium titanium magnetite has made great achievements,but some problems stillplague the blast furnace smelting.For example,hearth sedimentary,foaming slag,slag claypot,slag viscosity,etc. Based on previous research on the Ti slag viscosity problem,so thatthe kind of diluents and the best way to join the diulent into blast furnace can be found..According to the physical and chemical properties of commonnly used materialsmetallurgy, the type of diluents species diluents species can been choosed. Study theeffects of different diluents throug the measuring instrument of Ti slag viscosity,andensure the best and the optimum adding amount of diluents. The results show that,CaF2,MnO,Fe2O3,Li2O,MgO and Cr2O3all can dilute the slag. Adding amount of CaF2should be controlled in between0.5%to1.0%. MnO、Fe2O3、Li2O and Cr2O3shouldbe controlled about1.0%,MgO is3.0%. But considering the environmental, cost andother factors, CaF2should be the first choice. Researching of the softening melting andchange of droplet properties by the droplet furnace. In order to determine the nature ofdiluent on primary slag, effect of slag forming zone thickness and permeability of blastfurnace.The results show that adding diluents from the top of the blast furnace makes theposition of cohesive zone wider and thicker.Joining diulents from the top is adverse to theblast furnace. So blowing diluent from tuyeres to reduce the viscosity is reasonableselection of blast furnace slag.The useing of coal burning test equipment to research the combustion rate by theinfluence of diulents.The results show that pulverized coal with CaF20.9%or MgO1.2%can promote the pulverized coal burning. Pulverized coal combustion rateincreased from63.2%to63.52%and75.53%.
