In the mining industries or municipal construction fields, workers got poisoned orasphyxiated frequently because of exceeded harmful gases in those working environments.Workers’s efficiency will be reduced when using gas detectors that need to be readartificially.Traditional protective clothing has single function and it’s also bulky, users’s efficiencywill be declined greatly too. Meanwhile, it can not protect users’ personal safety, because theclothing can’t detect harmful gases or feed back information timely. How to protect workers’ssafety is the most important thing in harsh working environments. As a consequence,acceleratingthe intelligentization of protective equipments is an urgent problem to be solved.A wearable alarm system of harmful gases in work field is mentioned in this paper. With thegoal of reducing the damage of harmful gases to workers’ fitness in the process of industrialproduction, microcontroller and wireless connection are treated as a system platform, someenvironmental perception modules such as electrochemical(EC) gas sensor module andtemperature&humidity sensor module are added. The wearable alarm system can detect andcorrect gases concentration on the basis of relationship between the temperature and the EC gassensor’s sensitivity. Combining threshold alarm algorithm, actuators subsystem will give users thefirst or second level alarm by visual sense alarm module(RGB LEDs), auditory sense alarmmodule(piezoelectric buzzer) and tactile sense alarm module(vibration motor) when gasesconcentration is exceeded.HMI is developed via Android Development Tools (ADT). HMI connects with multi gasalarm devices by TCP sever and clients, displaying multi gas alarm devices’s gasesconcentration,temperature and humidty in time, calculating predicted value of gases concentrationthrough forecasting model of weighted moving average method. Visual sense(colorful words),auditory sense(alert sound) and tactile sense(vibration) alarms are provided by HMI to remindsworkers get away from dangerous work field when harmful gases’s concentration harm to healthand life of workers.In the case of without affecting workers’ wearing comfort and their operability,wearablealarm system of harmful gases can ensure the efficiency of field operation as well as operators’health and safety.
