The Design Research Of The Application Of Guangzhou Embroidery (GE) In Light Luxury Custom-made Women’s Dress

Guangzhou embroidery is a traditional manual skill with unique artistic style and bright local feature. Light luxury possesses the product feature of pursuing luxury level high quality but low price in design, craft and fabric, which is the hot subdivide class with market potential in recent years. On the basis of analyzing Guangzhou embroidery artistic feature and light luxury characteristics, studying the product feature of Guangzhou embroidery light luxury custom-made women’s dress as well as Guangzhou embroidery’s design essentials in light luxury custom-made women’s dress.The research is mainly made by three parts. The first part is to comb Guangzhou embroidery’s history and current situation and analyze its artistic characteristics from theme, color and craft, through visiting embroidery workshop, interviewing the logicians, data collection and picture analysis. The second part, adopting case study method to carry out qualitative analysis to three Guangzhou embroidery women’s dress finished product, including "Nishang Guangzhou Embroidery", "Xiu · Tangjie" and "Guangzhou Embroidery Zhuang’s clothing" from the angle of art and aesthetic feeling. Meanwhile, putting forward some characteristics that Guangzhou embroidery wants to evolve to women’s dress must equipped, that is the unification of decorative, usability and fashionability as well as elegance. The third part is to demonstrate light luxury’s orientation suitable to the characteristics of Guangzhou women’s dress from four aspects, which are audience characteristics, classify, product feature and price range, through the method of collecting, analyzing and combing resources. On this basis, put forward three major product natures according to the concept and category of light luxury custom-made women’s dress: same-class attribute corresponding with light luxury brand women’s dress, weaken than highly custom-made women’s dress and light customization comparing to ordinary tailoring. In addition, studying three major product qualities mentioned above with case study method, combing identification and qualitative as well as qualitative analysis. In accordance with Guangzhou embroidery’s craft characteristics and analyzing its manufacture steps to summarize two product development’s modes of Guangzhou embroidery light luxury custom-made women’s dress:one is finished product mode, another is light custom-made mode. The forth part is to research available pattern distribution manners that Guangzhou embroidery can apply to women’s dress, through analyzing, classifying and summarizing the pictures of modern embroidery women’s dress, and then count and analyze eight embroidery designs’distribution manner in women’s dress, which are asymmetric type balance pattern assignment, symmetric type pattern assignment, tapered or diffusion type pattern assignment, full schema type pattern assignment, large graphics form tile, ornamental thread pattern design on structural line location, local pattern distribution of detail location, combined type pattern distribution. Moreover, putting forward main points of style design, fabric and color application about Guangzhou embroidery light luxury custom-made women’s dress according to Guangzhou embroidery’s craft characteristics, the feature Guangzhou embroidery applied to women’s dress and product attribute of Guangzhou embroidery light luxury custom-made women’ s dress. Besides, performing design and creation on the basis of theoretical research mentioned above, and completing a series of design drawing of six Guangzhou embroidery light luxury custom-made women’s dresses as well as manufacturing flow instructions of Guangzhou embroidery clothing.
