In this dissertation, water-based paint remover towards enameled copper wire was developed to avoid the problems, such as, high toxicity, severe pollution, existing in the traditional paint remover. According to the principles of "like dissolves like", solvation and solubility parameters, benzyl alcohol and N, N-methyl pyrrolidone were selected as the main components, while acetone and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether as co-solvents, formic acid, deionized water and 30% hydrogen peroxide as activators, dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium and OP-10 as emulsifiers, methyl cellulose as thickener. The proportions of each component in the paint remover are optimized via single factor experiments as follows:The addition of the main solvents of benzene methanol and N, N-methyl pyrrolidoneis are 13g and 3g, while that of co-solvents acetone and diethylene glycol butyl ether are both 3g, activator formic acid, deionized water and 30% hydrogen peroxide are 0.5g, 1.1g and 10.5g, emulsifiers sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid and OP-10 are 0.5g and 0.25g, thickener methyl cellulose is 0.5g. In the above paint remover, the percentages of the above components are 28.7,6.6,6.6,6.6,1.1,23.2,24.3,1.1,0.5 and 1.1 percent respectively. The reaction conditions were determined as follows:reaction temperature 30℃ and reaction time 16h. The water-based paint remover we produced show good adaptability to wires enameled by polyester, polyester imide, polyimide and acetal through contrast experiments.
