Fine aluminum powder is widely used in numerous fields, such as in aerospace industry and automobile industry and so on. With the development of the national economy, the quality and quantity of fine aluminum powder also have higher requirements. But the existing level of fine aluminum powder production process control is still in relatively poor level, which is difficult to meet the actual needs. Combined with the project of reform of original nitrogen-atomization method aluminum powder production line of an enterprise, advanced process control strategies are used in this paper. Control problems in the aluminum powder production process are analyzed in depth. On this basis, a corresponding control scheme is proposed and implemented.Nitrogen-atomization method aluminum powder production technology is deeply understood for reform of original production line. Based on this, taking backward control of original production line into account, a three-layer control system is composed with a redundant PLC, several industrial personal computers and some field devices. WinCC configuration software is used for human-computer interaction interface design. The monitoring system is realized with the function of process control, data acquisition, archive and display, alarm and security protection. The control requirements of the manufacturer are fully meet. The nitrogen supply operation leads to the change of oxygen content and pressure, which affects the safety of system and efficiency of production. The waste of labor and resource in nitrogen supply operation is analyzed in this paper. A nitrogen supply process control strategy based on fuzzy control is designed according to the experience of production staff. It is utilized in the engineering. The nitrogen supply process is changed from manual operation to intelligent automatic operation, labor cost and nitrogen loss is saved. Fine powder rate is considered as an important index to estimate the quality of products. The traditional fine powder rate measurement is of no practical significance. Aiming at the problem of fine powder rate is hard to measure online, the influencing factors of fine powder rate is analyzed theoretically. Some representative data collected from the monitoring system are chosen as input data. The soft measurement model of fine powder rate is built by using artificial neural network theory. The offline-training measurement model is used for online measurement of fine powder rate in the monitoring system. It is instructive for operators to regulate the process. It is of important guiding significance to improve production quality.The new aluminum powder production monitoring system is used to control the modified aluminum powder production. It turned out to be secure and stable. Operation is simple and efficient. The system has a good interactivity, fully meets the control requirements of production. Performances of nitrogen supply control and soft measurement model of fine powder rate which are designed by using advanced process control are good. The intelligent level of this production line is improved. These efforts make considerable contribution to improving economic benefits of the enterprise.
