As one of the desulfurization techniques, the magnesium desulphurization has remarkable advantages of simple operation, high desulfurization efficiency, low cost, compact structure, and etc. Thus, it has broad application prospects.Because the waste water from magnesium desulphurization contains a large amounts of magnesium sulfite, the direct emission of waste water may cause serious pollution to environment, and magnesium sulfite may easily leads to desulphurization device of fouling, wear and clogging. So, this thesis has conducted the research on the forced oxidation of magnesium sulfite. The detailed contents of the research include:(1) choose a suitable oxidation method by comparing the normal technologies; (2) determine the optimized parameters by laboratory beaker test and effective aeration oxidation experiment; (3) verify oxidation effectiveness by aeration oxidation test on aboard. The valuable results and main conclusions are as follows:(1) the initial concentration of magnesium sulfite within 0.05 mol/L~0.15 mol/L and the pH value have unobvious effects on the oxidation rate of magnesium sulfite. It can be effecively promoted by increasing stirring speed and air volume.(2) Using Venturi tube at 70 min and porous medium tube for making micro bubble at 60 min respectively, both the oxidation efficiencies are up to 90%. The oxidation rate in deionized water is higher than that in seawater.(3) After aeration oxidation, the COD and the turbidity are significantly reduced, and the values are lower than the limited values of the ship sewage discharge standard.
