At present, energy and resources are badly needed and the pressure on resources environment is aggravated. As the high-energy, high-polluting industries, iron and steel enterprises should do well in energy saving. From the view of the environment and the economic development, energy and emission reduction with the support of existed technology equipment is of importance to reduce energy consumption and boost the international competitive capacity of enterprises.In this paper, it is mainly study the conversion and utilization process of material and energy in the iron-making process in the steel production. Through the careful study of material flow and energy flow, we can grasp the connection of the various processes, the entire energy flow rules and detailed analysis of the utilization of secondary energy, which helps to establish the optimization model. This research work mainly includes:(1)According to the hybrid characteristics of energy systems in iron and steel enterprises,the hybrid Petri net is used for modeling material and energy of the iron-making process, and effectively describes discrete event system and continuous event system in the iron-making process. The system model completely reflects the changes of matter and energy in each process of the production. Model includes the traditional model and the optimization model.The traditional model is mainly used in small and medium-sized enterprises, in which only recycle the high utilization rate of waste heat and waste energy. On the contrary, according to the principle of energy level matching, the optimization model analyses a variety of waste heat and waste energy, which reduces the emission rate.(2) Simulink/stateflow modules in MATLAB are applied to build simulation models of the system model mentioned above. The method can control the dynamic operation of each process and the process of saving, and make a comparative analysis of simulation results. In the system, some change occurring in one unit may cause the change of energy consumption of the whole iron-making system. Thus the change of the consumption of secondary energy is obtained with this method, which provides the support for energy scheduling in the iron-making process.(3) Finally, energy analysis method is applied to analysis the utilization of optimizing energy model. Energy analysis results of the coking process, sintering process and iron-making process are obtained, which can explain energy consumption exactly and provide the guidance for realizing scientific energy utility.
