Carbon nanotube has unique mechanical, electricity performance because of its light size and big relative surface which is considered the ideal filler of polymer composites. Polypyrrole(PPy) is a kind of novel polymer with conjugated structure which have good environmental stability, high conductivity and electrochemical reversibility er al. PPy/CNTs composite materials possesses the excellent properties of two materials. It can be used to conductive filler of antistatic coating.In this paper, we mainly study the acidification treatment of carbon nanotubes, polypyrrole/carbon nanotube composite materials and antistatic coating. TEM, XRD, FI-IR, TGA are used to character the morphology, structure and thermal stability of resulting products. In order to investigate the influence of reaction process on the product, and explore the related properties of the antistatic coating. The main contents are follows:The surface of carbon nanotube was modified by nitric acid oxidation method.. By the characterization of the reaction products using SEM and IR, the results indicated that the carbon nanotube was successfully prepared by method of nitric acid oxidation with active group of carboxyl, hydroxyl on their surface.Polypyrrole/carbon nanotube composite material was prepared by chemical redox polymerization, the electrical properties was characterized by four probe method. The experimental results show that the conductive polymer evenly coated on carbon nanotubes, form the coaxial tubular structure.Following the previous research, the polypyrrole/carbon nanotubes composite material was used as conductive filler. By adding other fillers, solvent and all kinds of additive agents, it can be used as antistatic coating. The results show that performance of antistatic coating comply with relevant national technical standards.
