Growing with the global economy, the worldwide demand for energy is increasing rapidly. Also, the oil and gas fields are often so far away from the places where require these resources most. And so it contributes to long distance transport. To save the cost of transporting while considering the constancy of supplication, long distance pipe is now more used than normal solutions like railway, highway or the freighters. The transporting efficiency of pipes is now recognized around the world being called the line of life project. And china has a complicated geological situation especially the western area. So these long pipes projects in china will have to handle with those complicated geological conditions like landslide, debris flow because of some important factors, for example: the cost. While those pipes getting through the land slide area, it is of great importance to the stability of the pipes that if they are horizontally installed or vertically installed. So, it is meaningful to do some research on deformation failure regulations of those pipes. This paper analyzed those pipes which installed in the landslide area by doing mechanical calculations and ABAQUS numerical simulations. This paper shall be mainly consisted of:1. Systematically reviewed the domestic and international relevant research methods of oil and gas pipeline deformation under the condition of landslide, emphatically introduced some theoretical calculation method and finite element numerical method.2. This paper analyzed the classification of oil and gas pipeline landslide and the pipe deformation failure mode. This paper also analyzed the important factors such as the patch on the pipeline, the weight of the pipeline itself, the pressure at the bottom of the pipeline, the friction between the soil and the pipe. With those factors, it is able to calculate the stress and displacement under vertical and horizontal conditions.3. Using finite element method(FEM) according to the contacting problem to calculate the stress, strain and displacement of different slopes, different lengths under both vertical and horizontal conditions as well as the pipeline stability under the conditions of pipeline diameters, thicknesses and materials of surrounding soils and the pipeline pressures.4. Applying those methods in this paper to some project of an oil and gas pipeline to do the T153-landslope researches, calculate the deformation failure of the pipelines so that it can supply some important references to the pipeline’s design and installation.
