Mine gas is a kind of dangerous substance that may seriously affect the safe production of the coalmine in our country. At the same time, the gas is a clean and efficient energy. To sovle the problem of mine gas, in addition to strengthening the mine ventilation, another important means to tackle it is the gas drainage. Therefore, mine gas drainage not only can eliminate the potential danger of gas accident and ensure the safety of coal mine production, but also can provide lots of clean energy.Based on the present situation of gas drainage at home and abroad, this paper takes the Feng Huang Coalmine in Yingjing County as the research object. According to the Temporary Provision of Gas Drainage Reaching Standard in Coalmine, this paper compiles a mark sheet by safety checklist analysis to examine whether the gas drainage foundation reaches standard or not. Aiming at the characteristics of the thin coal seam, the high gas content, and the poor gas permeability and geological conditions, this paper evaluates the effect of the gas drainage method by highly-located roof borehole in Feng Huang Coalmine.Taking advantage of the mark sheet and statistical analysis of the measured data, the gas drainage in Feng Huang Coalmine is judged to be reaching standard, the rationality of choosing highly-located roof borehole drainage method as the main drainage method is verified, and some improvement countermeasures are put forward. The reaserch shows, after highly-located roof borehole drainage method is adopted in Feng Huang Coalmine, the gas drainage efficiency has been improved, and the phenomenon of gas-over-limit eliminated, which makes the gas mining safe, efficient, and green.
