It is so-called that small objects suggest the truth. As far as the eye we can see, hand we touch, body we use, they are not only to meet the daily needs of the people, but also reflect the historical traditions and cultural spirit of a nation, it is a measure of the degree of civilization and progress. People are used to seeing everyday items from simple perspective of material and use. It is not enough to fully understand their meaning for the human life. As far as we know, the general commodity production which works as a product of human survival activities and means is the embodiment of the value appeal and a meaningful form of expression of human spiritual world.As a necessary implement for Chinese people, square table is not only closely linked with people’s life, but also reflects the needs of the development of its social personality. In fact, the seemingly ordinary square table is not normal. It contains the pursuit of social norms and order and the value beyond the humanistic general practical requirements. The paper which is based on the square table as the research object, taking the demands of shapes of the implements and social norms of "order" as the main line, combs the evolution and the shape structure of the square table through field investigation, literature, ancient and modern physical analysis, archaeological data analysis and other research methods. On this basis, it analyzes the inner form elements and functional significance of the social norms.In my opinion, the particular forms involve the requirements of Chinese traditional culture for the social personality and indicate the intention of subtle influence on user’s spirit and quality, which is the intention of enlightenment. It is likely to get a deeper degree and creates far greater role than for individual users through the wide use of square table in customs activities, so that the order in the form of square table shape or sense of order could rise as a universal symbol of the social order, and point to the social macro target of the construction of the order. The author tried to research the square table from the humanities of micro level, paints a picture from the "the order of objects" to "the order of people" and their close relationship of the cultural symbols and social constructions, reveals a more hidden relations of social value in the objects with people and man with man. On this basis, the author also hopes that by the "square table" reflections of the traditional Chinese commodities system, it can prompt what behind the associated social and cultural ecological relations for daily use, so as to provide beneficial enlightenment on constructing both a way of needs of public commodities systems and aesthetic temperament and a modern commodities system with healthy personality cultivation and harmonious order requirements.
