With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization process in China,the health of river ecosystem had been severely damaged and brought great socio-economic losses for the basin.Therefore,it was imperative to find a scientific and rational river ecosystem health assessment and repair methods.In this paper, the Huaihe River Basin(Henan Section) was regarded as study area,.Research of river ecosystem health evaluation and restoration mode could provide reference and guidance for the Huaihe River Basin(Henan Section) restoration work,and chieve a preliminary exploration for classification restoration of river ecosystem in large-scale river basin,which had a certain reference value.Firstly,research progress of related health evaluation and restoration mode of river ecosystem were elaborated; Secondly, river ecosystem characteristics of Huaihe River Basin(Henan Section) were descried;Then,using frequency and theoretical analysis, health evaluation index system was screened from hydrological characteristics, water quality conditions,geomorphology and biological status four aspects, which included 14 indicators. While referring to domestic and foreign health evaluation standards, and regional status,various indicators and comprehensive index of health level standard,which were respectively health, sub-health,vulnerable, sick and bad,were determined. Method of TS fuzzy neural network were used to evaluate the river ecosystem health situation in Huaihe River Basin(Henan section).Following,stepwise regression analysis were used to identify the major health factor.The results showed that the basin area included sub-health, vulnerable, sick and poor grades,without healthy grade, the proportion was 1.20%, 67.47%, 25.30% and 6.02%, respectivily. ecological water demand guaranteed rate, water pollution index, sediment average pollution index,meandering degree, river transformation extent, aquatic diversity index, phytoplankton diversity index, zooplankton diversity index, fixing algae diversity and benthic fauna diversity index 10 indicators were calculated the main affecting factors of basin.Then,according to the relationship between health and restorationr, restoration types w ere determined on the foundation of river ecosystem health evaluation; Nextly, on the bas is of major health affecting factors, the river ecosystem that needed to artificial restoration were classified by cluster analysis and put forward specific repair mode.The results sho wed that Huaihe river(Henan Section) included ten kinds of artificial repair mode, namel y natural restoration mode, quality-sediment- meandering degree ordinary restoration mode,quantity-quality-sediment-meandering degree ordinary repair mode, sediment-biology ordin ary restoration mode, quality-sediment-meandering degree-biology ordinary restoration mod e,quantity-quality-meandering degree ordinary repair mode,quantity-quality-sediment enhance ment restoration mode,quantity-quality-sediment-biology enhancement restoration mode,quan tity-quality-sediment-geomorphology enhancement restoration mode,alternative restoration m ode accounting for respectively 1.20%、36.14%、8.43%、7.23%、7.23%、8.43%、9.64%、8.43%、7.23% and 6.02%. Finally,Suoxu river restoration mode wereanalyzed briefly and put forward specific rehabilitation program.
