Annellated phospholes are now recognized as valuable platforms for preparing a variety of optoelectronic devices. This explains why an upsurge of interesting in the synthesis of these species is obvious recently. The carbene-like chemistry of electrophilic terminal phosphinidene complexes [RP-M(CO)n](M = Cr, Mo, W, Fe; n = 4,5) is now well developed, but the formation of single P-C bonds by insertion of phosphinidenes into C-H bonds remains exceptional so far. Therefore,we do the the study of synthesis of annellated phospholes through intramolecular C- H activation by monovalent phosphorus. Firstly, we designed the the family of 1,1’-biaryl-2-phosphinidene complexes [1,1’-Ar-Ar-2-P-W(CO)5], which obtained from the 7-phosphanorbornadiene. The 7-phosphanorbornadiene was heated at 120 °C in toluene and generated the annellated phospholes with a P-H compounds directly. The computing shows that the activation energy of the insertion reaction is quite low(about 2 kcal mol-1).And the research shows that this method provides a new and efficient synthetic strategy for us to synthesize annellated phospholes.
