Fracturing design method based on the proppant number, is a new method of fracturing design with the objective function of maximum productivity index. Compared with the method of conventional fracturing design, this method pays more attention to matching the geometry of the fracture to the distribution of sand bodies. For low permeability reservoir, we not only focus on the length of fracture, but also emphasize the fracture conductivity. As a result of that, we can acquire the maximum deliverability after fracturing. This paper introduces a concept of proppant number. The relationship among proppant number in a vertical well, the maximum productivity index and optimal dimensionless fracture conductivity is constructed, and the objective is to obtain the maximum productivity index and the best length and width of propped fracture. Eventually, the fracturing parameters under the conditions of square and rectangular well pattern are optimized. Using the Visual Basic 6.0 computering software to document fracturing parameters computering software, we analyse the influence of reservoir permeability, aspect ratio, volume of proppant under the conditions of the different wells on production index and other parameters through the data calculation.
