The reservoir of Morichal segment in M horizontal well region of the Orinoco heavy oil belt is Sandy braided river deposition and mainly developed by horizontal wells. Compared with the vertical well-logging data, horizontal well-logging data provides lateral geological information and can describe the change characteristics of reservoir lithology and physical property parameters. There is a significant difference in data size and distribution on the space within the same formation between vertical well-logging data and horizontal well-logging data. Because of this difference, how to use horizontal well-logging data effectively in the reservoir geological modeling will be studied in this paper. Firstly, to make description of Characteristics of braided river sedimentary facies distribution of M horizontal well region with well-logging data, seismic data and measurement data of modern outcrop depositional and object-based simulation method is used to build braided river sedimentary model with Digital characteristics. Secondly, based on thought that geological modeling is to use logging and seismic data, Multiple-point geostatistics modeling method is used to integrate seismic data to constrain sedimentary facies model. Based on thought of facies-controlled modeling, Sequential Gaussian modeling method is used to build petrophysical model constrained by sedimentary facies model. Finally, multiple model validation method is used to test rationality and accuracy of geologic model. As horizontal well-logging data provides lateral reliable geological information, it has an advantage in describing lateral layer geological characteristics than vertical well-logging data. However, Geosteering technology is used to evade mudstone during horizontal well drilling, therebefore horizontal well-logging data will result in distortion of the geological model. Solutions to two difficulties of using horizontal well-logging data to build geological model are proposed in the paper. Seismic impedance data is used to constrain sedimentary facies trend during facies modeling, and to ensure sedimentary facies trend correct. The result of variation function analysis on vertical well-logging data is used to constrain petrophysical trend during petrophysical modeling, and to ensure petrophysical trend and continuity consistent with the source direction. The test result indicates that the sedimentary facies model and petrophysical model of M horizontal well region have low uncertainty and high accuracy. In summary, the method of reservoir geological modeling of horizontal well region is effective and reliable in the paper, and has significant reference to same type region developed by horizontal wells.
