In this thesis, for the problem, the security of electric supply in case of fire need to be solved. Ceramic silicone rubber was used in cable to improve fire performance properties.the effects on the mechanical properties and fire-resist properties of silicone rubber were studied. A series of fire-resistant silicone rubber was prepared by add in different filler, to get the relationship between the silicone rubber matrix and the filler. And select a silicone rubber with good fire-resist and mechanical properties. Use this silicone rubber as insulation material in fire-resistant cable. In this paper, we use methyl vinyl silicone rubber as matrix, and composites of silicone matrix with IFR. And so on.In order to improve low temperature ceramification at elevated temperatures and improve the ceramic strength. Low-temperature ceramic eutectic was introduced, something were added into silicone-based composites. The effects of cable matrix on the thermal properties of the resin were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis. Tensile strength/elongation at break and the ceramic strength were measured by an Instron tensile machine. Through the results of Bending Strength test, IFR add in silicone rubber can’t ceramification at any temperatures. At last, select a silicone rubber with good fire-resist/mechanical properties and made it into cable. The fire-resisr cable passed GB/T 19216.21-2003 circuit integrity test.
