Dewatering of concentrate is a very important link in beneficiation plants. In the past, vacuum filtration method is mainly used for the filtration of mineral of beneficiation plants. But with the complex refractory and low grade ores is becoming more and more, the ore concentrate become fine and sticky, vacuum filtration due to high pressure limits is difficult to deal with fine and sticky materials. The filter press can provide several times the atmospheric pressure filter driver, it can be good filtering fine and sticky materials. So pressure filter has been more and more used in the ore concentrate filtering in recent years.Filter press dewatering process including into the slurry into a cake, pressing and drying. The different methods of feeding directly affect the efficiency of the process about the slurry into the bread and the degree of wear and tear of filter plates, and the feeding model of pressure filter has three ways in general: upper feed, lower feed and feed in the middle. The paper use computational fluid dynamics(CFD) theory, through the establishment filter different feeding methods of CFD model, three kinds of feed way has conducted the simulation research, found the upper feed mode is more conductive to the formation of uniform, filter cloth is not easy to be damaged, and the filter plate is pressed into cakes is more uniform, the highest rate of filtration. In addition, this paper also made a further study about “dry, press and slurry technology”. The slurry filter cake formation, the pressure of pulp inlet should gradually low pressure to high pressure. At the same there is a reasonable squeeze time and drying time.On the basis of the above research, through the industrial filter test system is established in the ore dressing plant of Beijing General Research Institute of mining and metallurgy, and Haikou phosphate mine of Yun Tian Hua group in the province of Yun Nan, proved by experiment research, through the industrial test data acquisition and analysis was made on the data analysis results show, the best thickness of filter cake, and obtained the numerical optimal filter cake thickness of the system. In addition, the squeezing time and drying time reasonable values were studied.On the basis of the above research, this paper also put forward the work of the filter in the filter cake thickness optimal implementation of several industrial control programs. Such as: pressure control, time control, flow control. To press time, drying time and the slurry technology results in industrial filter in the application, and puts forward some suggestions and methods.In summary, through the research of the establishment of a CFD model filter cake, the filter press dewatering process simulation, put forward the optimization direction of filter press dewatering process, and the experiments are carried out through industrial test and Research on the modeling and Simulation of CFD conclusion, and put forward the optimization control scheme can be implemented in several industrial. It has some positive significance to the optimization design and the dehydration process of filter press industry.
