Traditional Folk Tools Design Research Of Southeast Tibet

In recent years, the research of minority culture becoming more and more thorough, Southeast Tibet as the populated place of Tibetan, Monba and Lhoba, has caused widespread concern in the national scholars. However, the research which closely related to the lives of ordinary people is very little, especially the study on the traditional folk tools of Southeast Tibet. In this paper, Southeast Tibet traditional folk tools are thinked as the research object,changing traditional folk tools into two majors to study. Based on field investigation, the author got the first-hand research data, production tools divided into farming class, vehicle class and other types,life tools divided into miscellaneous equipment class, entertainment and clothing. Based on the principles of modern product design, the author discusses its characteristics of the design from the function, form, material and process,and analysis of factors influencing the Southeast Tibet traditional folk tools. During the study, the author combines specific space environment of Southeast Tibet, with field research methods, suming up the relationship between the southeastern Tibet traditional folk tools and spatial environment.Not only traditional folk tools has the decision of the space environment,but also space environment makes new demands for traditional folk tools. They both have identity, interdependence,and are closely linked. In the long evolution, the creation of traditional folk tools directly reflects the wisdom of local people. They are very good at using natural, improving natural. The design culture of Southeast Tibet is full of national colors. It constantly adapts to the needs of production and life, constantly creating new instruments. The author arounds the principle of “Mode of production determines production tools, production tools affect production” and “Life lifestyle determines appliances, appliances affect life lifestyle” to expand the discussion.Nowadays,although the southeastern Tibet traditional folk tools has been unable to meet the requirements of modern life, but they still have uses in modern design area as matters of space furnishings. What’s more, the implicit wisdom of creation in the modern design view is quite advanced. It inspires us to ecological green design in the environmental protection consciousness. In this paper, the author researches on the southeastern Tibet traditional folk tools with a new perspective.It not only has the certain enlightenment significance to the modern design, but also has a certain role on protection and inheritance of the minority cultural heritage.
