Sugar is one of the most important substance related to people’s livelihood, which second only to grain, cotton and oil in China. Currently sugar is mainly processed by Sulfitation. While due to the problem taken by the technology itself, the quality of white sugar produced can not be compared to the refined sugar, not to mention participate in international competition. Even worse the price of sugar is continuing to decline, so there is an urgent need to improve the quality of white sugar products, improve recovery and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises for it can meet the requirements of industrial development.Taken Huahai Sugar Industy Development Co Ltd. HuaFeng branch in Zhangjiang for example, the entire sugar process and problems were studied systematicly. From sugarcane raw materials, auxiliary materials and process, the factors affecting the quality of sugar products and recovery in sulfitation sugar refinery were comprehensive analyzed. Finally there are solutions proposed to analyze and solve production problems in sugar refinery, which may provides a systematic way of thinking.1. Analysis of raw cane qualityRecently sugarcane is seriously suffering from pest, an average of 97.88% of sugarcane are affected by pests; the effect of pest on the sugarcane quality is serious. Compared to sugarcane free from pest, in those with pests their brix drops by an average of 1.5°Bx and sucrose content falls 1.64%; the content of raw cane inclusions is high, it can reach more than 18.6% in sugarcane harvested by machine.2. Analysis of lime and lime milk qualityThe quality of lime in the factory is unstable, and its content of calcium oxide is low, only 48% reach the lime standards; fluctuation in the concentration of lime milk is large.3. Control of industrial index(1)The squeezed procution in night shift and day shift changes quite large. Because of the fluctuations of process indicators, the pre-ash and neutralization pH value are unstable and the situation of which partial alkaline is too large is quite serious. What is more, the crude syrup and clear syrup pH are unstable and the crude syrup Brix is low, volatility is very large.(2)The evaporation area is small, the ratio of evaporation area and squeezed procution is only 1.22. The. scheme of extraction steam is irrational, excessive extraction steam in I effect evaporator lead to Ⅰ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ effect evaporator overload. There are equipment problems in No.4 evaporator tank. The color value increases greatly and the pH value decreases significantly in evaporation process.(3)White sugar granules are between the grain and pellet, the particles are small and uneven.(4)The difference of purity between initial juice and mixed juice reaches an average of 2.34 and the sucrose losses great.(5)Best condition for clarify:the amount of phosphoric acid 450 mg/L 480 mg/L, pre-ash pH 6.3-6.6, sulfitation strength 21 mL, neutralization pH 7.1~7.3.
