In recent years, with the dual development of science and technology, in automotive, decoration and other areas have higher requirements for the industry. Copper- steel composite new material own the advantages of the copper and steel, and it has the high advantage of conduction, welding and corrosion resistance, due to integrating the characteristics of the steel, so the new composite material has high strength, its advantage is that the single copper and steel can’ t be compared,so it is an integrated functional material.Although our country have certain exploration in cold rolling complex method of bimetallic, however, the technology has not been put into practical application and production because of the problem of technical. So the study of composite panels in composite process, strength theory, mechanical properties, heat treatment, protection work and galvanic corrosion behavior in seawater are exist some disadvantages, so the new materials encountered many obstacles in the process of production and application.For the above specific questions, the subject of copper- steel composite strip material for the study, by changing the heat treatment conditions to measure it’s thickness of diffusion layer, the strength of interface, the hardness of diffusion layer, and mechanical properties of the steel, such as: tensile strength, elongation and so on. Meanwhile, through electrochemical knowledge to study the galvanic corrosion of composite panels in seawater, carried out in-depth analysis of this phenomenon, exploring the corrosion resistance of new materials.The experiment observe copper- steel composite interface by MDJ200 microscope, line scanning and analyzing for the combined interface use S-4800Ⅱscanning electron microscope that with energy dispersive spectrometer, the best heat treatment process for copper- steel composite panel is : annealing temperature : 850 ℃, holding time : 2h, at this time the composite interface has been reached completion and the combined area is the largest. Then we carried tensile test and repeated bending test for the composite panel, mechanical tests show that the strength and ductility of composite panels all meet the production needs. Finally,we use the method of electrochemical corrosion to test electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and polarization curves of copper- steel composite panel, and is compared with copper’s corrosion resistance that non-rolling complex. The results showed that although the corrosion resistance of composite panels is just less than copper, the composite panels still has good corrosion resistance, and it also can satisfy the corrosion properties requirements for engineering structures.
