The KR mechanical stirring desulfurization technology has been widely applied to many steel mills,with its stable desulfurization effect, less consumption, lower cost and many other advantages among the desulfurization. While it’s definitely prevent the development of mechanical stirring desulfurization, that the service life of impellers in bad environment, inconvenience in maintenance and many other difficulties.In order to improve the impeller mixing performance, the desulfurization efficiency, and the service life, it is necessary and valuable in economy that to study on the process of KR mechanical stirring desulfurization.The study is finished by computer simulation, based on the situation of practical production, and the main works are done as follows:the mixing model are built from the similarity principle; the flow field is investigated with the Multiple reference frame; the stress of granular desulfurization agent in the flow field is analysed form the solid-liquid two-phase flow theory; the agents dispersion effect in different of conditions are discovered.Some primary results can be obtained:(1)The mixing model are built from the similarity principle. The model is shrink with a appropriate proportion. And the mixing model is meshed with appropriate size after analyzing results of different the grid size.(2)Through huge number of simulation experiments, the law of different conditions such as the speed of impeller, the number of impellers, the impeller diameter and the location of the impellers in tank is investigated by means of fluent simulation.(3)The stress of granular desulfurization agent in mixing flow field is analysed from the solid-liquid two-phase flow theory. By using the EDME-FLUENT coupling method the process and movement of agents in mixing flow field are simulated.(4)The agents dispersion effect in different conditions is discovered by EDME-FLUENT coupling method, and the best condition is found.It is shown from above that this work will provide a theory and support for the optimization of the KR desulfurization and practical production...
