As society progresses and the rapid development of industrialization, transportation will play an increasingly important role, while the transport and power machinery speed, load and safety requirements are high, and therefore as a friction material transport corresponding requirements are higher. Friction material not only has excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength, abrasion resistance and stable friction coefficient, but also with a series of features, such as light, no noise when braking, no environmental pollution and low cost. Carbon fiber has good abrasion resistance, high thermal conductivity, good tensile properties, no environmental pollution, light, etc., which play a vital role in the friction material. At the same time, due to the interface in the composite can play a passing role in the formation of a whole, and therefore the composite interface to play a key role in the overall performance of composite. The results show a good bonding strength that helps to play the mechanical properties of composite materials.Firstly, this paper studied interfacial properties of the carbon fiber reinforced resin matrix composites, Using acetone, concentrated nitric acid, a silane coupling agent on the carbon fiber surface treatment and the treated carbon fiber were used to prepare carbon fiber composites.Using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), computer controlled universal testing machine to study tensile strength and fracture morphology of polymer matrix composites. The results show that the carbon fiber after immersion in acetone, concentrated nitric acid roughening, and then through a silane coupling agent and the carbon fiber after immersion in acetone, concentrated nitric acid treatment enhances the binding strength of the carbon fiber and the matrix. Then further study on carbon fibers and copper particles to friction and wear properties, influence of hardness, impact strength. The different levels of carbon fibers, copper particles are added to polyoxymethylene matrix to prepared a different ratio of the composite material. Using laboratory instruments measuring coefficient of friction, wear rate, hardness and impact strength, abrasion and impact fracture morphology were observed. Laboratory studies show carbon fibers and copper particles significantly improves the wear resistance of POM. At 0.628m/s,100N experimental conditions, the wear rate of the carbon fiber 10%+ copper particles 10% constituting the composite material is the lowest, the wear rate than the addition of carbon fibers alone decreased 48.5%. Friction surface morphology analysis showed that adding copper particles of friction surface of the composite material is smooth, but it increases the friction coefficient Adding different contents of carbon fiber and the copper particles can increase hardness offriction material. With the increase of carbon fiber contents in composite material, the hardness value first increases and then decreases. When the addition amount of the carbon fiber in composite material is 10%, with increasing content of copper particles, gradually increasing the hardness of the composite material. With the increase of carbon fiber contents in composite material, the impact strength increased first and then decreased. When the content of carbon fiber is 10%, the impact strength increase with the content of copper particles increasing. Impact fracture adding copper composite particles campared to no copper particles occurs stacking fault and the phenomenon of uneven.
