Weather in scientific research in the laboratory or in people’s daily life, industry and agriculture production, water plays an essential role. At the same time as exploiting the new sources of water, we have to develop new system of refreshing polluted-water. The purpose of this study is to solve the problem of the metal purification of waste water in physical and chemical laboratory, so that the metal waste water in physical and chemical laboratory can meet the national standard level, and this kind of method could also contribute to environmental protection.First, modify the PAN fiber. In this paper, polyacrylonitrile fibers (acrylic) and methyl benzene sulfonamide are taken as the raw material to proceed the synthesis reaction, and the optimal reaction conditions which includes the study of the ratio of reactants, reaction time, reaction temperature, rotor speed and other factors are explored in this paper. The study find that when the ethylene glycol and water are used as the solvent, the high proportion of any party will affect the appearance of the resulting chelate fiber traits; long reaction time can certainly enhance the progress of the reaction, but taking into account the factors to save energy and maximize efficiency, the reaction time is also strictly controlled; the relatively high reaction temperature can accelerate the reaction rate, but if the temperature is too high, the fiber will be hardened fibers which may lose their elasticity and will have very bad affect on the later absorption(mainly affects surface area).Secondly, adsorption test. According to the national standard of water quality testing methods, the composition of the metal waste water in the physical and chemical laboratory can be made sure and be prepared with the metal ion standard analog. Then the synthetic methyl benzene sulfonamide chelate fiber is used to absorb the simulate waste water (mainly containing ion, manganese, copper, zinc, lead, cadmium, arsenic, selenium, mercury). The atomic absorption spectrophotometer is used to make sure the concentration of the metal iron in the solution after the adsorption. Finally, recycling conditions of the functional fibers. To take full advantage of the prepared chelate fiber, the fiber with the absorbed metal ions has been repeatedly cleaned, and used to absorb the known-concentration solution several times. Determine the limit of the prepared chelate fiber, so the maximum absorption can be get under the premise of full utilizaion.
