In order to extend the storage time of chilled meat, EHA/PE composite films with high barrier property were prepared and used in meat packaging. Film with polyamide as substrate, the ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) on polyamide modified, Thus prepared EHA thin films with a higher barrier properties and better mechanical properties, and the use of the polyethylene (PE) composite, and the thermal stability of composite membranes, barrier property, mechanical property and packing properties were evaluated respectively. The experimental results show that the composite film, preparation of EHA/PE with barrier properties and good mechanical properties.EHA films have great improvement in moisture resistance performance and anti oxygen performance than PA6, humidity at 40% EHA under conditions of oxygen transmission rate is only 2.19 of cc/m2/day, water vapor transmission rate of 7.56 g·m/m2·d·Pa is identical to PA6 under conditions of oxygen transmission rate of 1/12, water vapor transmission rate of 1/6.When the humidity rises to 80% EHA thin film oxygen transmission rate of cc/m2/day was 2.46cc/m2/day, the water vapor transmission rate of 49.21 g·m/m2·d·Pa,under the same conditions PA6 oxygen transmission rate reached 28.4 cc/m2/day, water vapor transmission rate is reached 110.52 g·m/m2·d·Pa. EHA/PE composite membrane resistance oxygen and water vapour barrier to further improve the performance after composite PE, better than the control in the PA6/PE composite film.In mechanics performance, EHA film than PA6 film on the tensile strength and elongation at break decreased slightly, but better than the single EVOH film, tensile strength of EHA/PE composite membrane is better than PA6/PE after the composite PE,but the elongation at break of less than PA6/PE.Cold fresh meat packaging test compared the packing properties ofThe EHA/PE film, PA/PE film and PE film were compared in chilled meat packagingThe results show that, EHA/PE vacuum packaging of the chilled meat storage to 23 days, better than PA/PE vacuum packaging.
