Polyethylene as the representative of thermoplastics, and its application value has beenconcerned by people, and to seek a kind of both can try to save cost and to improve itsperformance, also can reduce the pollution of the environment of compound polyethylene isthe focus of scholars at home and abroad to study. Polyethylene has good low temperatureresistance, temperature does not dissolve in solvents, small water imbibition, electricalinsulation, good chemical stability, good ability of most of the acid and alkali erosion (acid)with characteristics of oxidation resistance, etc, but the toughness, secondary processabilityand impact resistance, etc, also some deficiencies. Aiming at the characteristics ofpolyethylene modified research.This thesis focuses on through the different modification methods for modifiedpolyethylene. Respectively application filling modification and blending modification,radiation modification, discuss the influence of the types of filling agent, filling agent, fillingtemperature, increase the amount of solvent; Types of blending agents and blending agentdosage and radiation dose on polyethylene performance; Finally melt index, cantilever beamimpact tester and other instruments is used to measure the polyethylene melt index, the tensilestrength, bending modulus, oxidation resistance, impact strength. And compare the data withthe modified before.Research data show that: filled with starch modified polyethylene, using10%starch,6%of the compatibilizers, under150℃of modified polyethylene liquidity and tensileperformance enhancements.20%of nano-sized calcium carbonate added to have played animportant role in enhancing toughening of polyethylene. Use50%T60-800with50%HD5502S blending modification in no apparent change HD5502S tensile properties under thepremise of make up for the deficiency of the HD5502S, improve its liquidity and bendingperformance. Using35%V-30G and65%HD5502S blending modification, improvedliquidity for bending modulus also has a lot of improvement. In radiation modification, whenradiation dose is40kGy, not seriously affect the performance of other tensile properties underthe early rising. Above modification method has good stability, has the very good use value.
