| Mosaic pattern has long served in the field of architectural decoration.For centuries ofreincarnation and the development, it has formed a unique aesthetic characteristics and profoundcultural connotation. With the continuous development of modern science and technology, themosaic pattern has been beyond the field of traditional architectural decoration, applying in moreand more fields.It gradually becomes a new fashion. In the field of home textile design, theapplication of the Mosaic pattern as fresh element, is continuously breaking through thetraditional aesthetic principles, not only presenting more effects in the form and visual perception,but also making it varied in style. Based on the richness and diversity, the article will focus onthe mosaic pattern in the application of modern home textile design systematic theoreticalanalysis and research.Firstly, this paper theoretically analyzes and summarizes the mosaic pattern’s concept,origin, classification, cultural connotation,reason for being popular, art features. Secondly, byanalyzing the home textile products of the same kind on the market at present, this paper findsproblems. Then combining with the modern trend of current home textile design, this paper putsforward the creative use of Mosaic pattern in home textile design. Finally through the hometextile product item design practice and series design practice, this paper deeply studies andeffectively grasps the application of the Mosaic pattern in modern home textile design.In thisway, the feasibility of the design method and train of thought that present by this paper will beproved.
