Nomex honeycomb core composite material has become an important materials in the field ofmilitary and aerospace, with the advantages of light weight, high strength and flame retardant. Forthe processing method of this material, ultrasonic cutting processing compared with the traditionalmilling can not only reduce the processing load, improve processing efficiency, but also can greatlyimprove the machining quality of the surface material. Therefore, ultrasonic cutting mode hasbecome the main processing methods of Nomex honeycomb core material. Ultrasonic power supplyis the energy source of ultrasonic cutting vibration system, performance of ultrasonic power supplysystem is one of the key factors to decide the ultrasonic cutting system.According to the requirements of Nomex honeycomb core composite ultrasonic cutting, first ofall, design the overall design plan of ultrasonic power supply system, which including main circuitand control circuit, and then, based on the cutting process of piezoelectric transducer impedance andfrequency variation, two key techniques focus on power system, impedance matching technique andfrequency tracking technology is studied, and put forward the new design scheme. Finally,according to the design scheme of power supply overall design and every function module, madeultrasonic cutting power supply prototype, after that, the power supply prototype performance testand the cutting vibration performance test are conducted. Test result proved that the ultrasonicpower supply design conforms to Nomex honeycomb core composite ultrasonic cutting processingrequirements.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows;(1) This paper first briefly introduces the Nomex honeycomb core composite material, andanalyzes the advantage of ultrasonic cutting way compared to the traditional processing methods,then, the development status of the ultrasonic power supply at home and abroad and the keyproblems are analyzed;(2) According to the ultrasonic cutting processing requirements formulated the overall designscheme of ultrasonic power supply, and achieved the program design and circuit design of eachmodule in the scheme;(3) Aiming at the impedance matching of key technology, this paper presents a kind ofimproved LC matching scheme based on the analysis of various matching schemes, and design amatching circuit design method based on parameter design;(4) Aiming at the frequency tracking control of key technologies, this paper first get the law of cutting parameters influence on the resonant frequency of the system through the experiment ofNomex honeycomb material cutting process, on the basis of this, presents a variable step sizecomposite frequency tracking method, it is proved that this method not only improves the trackingspeed and greatly improves the tracking accuracy;(5) According to the ultrasonic power supply scheme designed in this paper, the developmentof the power supply prototype, and the power supply prototype vibration performance of systemperformance test and system test, results show that the input and output signal power supply systemdesign of each functional module meets the design requirements, in driving the power under the tipamplitude vibration system meet the design requirements and output stability.(6) According to the ultrasonic power supply scheme designed in this paper power supplyprototype has been developed, then, performance test and the vibration performance testing of thesystem are conducted, results show that the input and output signal power supply system design ofeach functional module meets the design requirements, in driving the power of the vibration systemunder the tip amplitude reaches the design requirement and stable output.
