The topic combines with the brand of 50W470 non-oriented silicon steel produced by the traditional production technology. In view of without normalizing equipment and product performance requirements, the study of low cost, low loss, high magnetic 50W470 non-oriented silicon steel products implemented industrial experiments by the means of adjusting the composition and improving process combined. The experimental steel-coils of these processes(hot-rolling, cold-rolling and continuous annealing) were tailed and sampled; the microstructure and texture of the samples were observed and tested with metallographic microscope and EBSD. The characteristics and evolution behaviors of the microstructure and texture of the samples were analyzed to analyze magnetic properties, which compared with the microstructure, texture and magnetic properties of ordinary low manganese 50W470 products, providing a theoretical basis for the development of products. In this paper, the characteristics and evolution behaviors of microstructure and texture during the production of the non-oriented electrical steel are analyzed and summarized on the base of sampling at different manufacturing procedures of industrial experiments. The microstruction evolution of non-oriented electrical steel are featured: the microstructure after hot-rolling is ferrite phase, the grain in the surface layer of hot strip is fine and equixaial, while in the center position it is a mixture of pancaked ferrite band and the recrystallization grain; the grains were stretched along the rolling direction after cold rolling, and the microstructure of the annealed strip is the equixaial polygonal ferrite grain with clear grain boundaries. The texture evolution are featured: the texture of hot rolled strip is uneven distribution along the thickness direction, the surface is the Goss texture, copper type texture and brass texture, around a quarter and half layer is mainly composed of rotating cube texture, α fibrous texture and a small amount of γ fibrous texture; the textures of cold-rolled strip are in the same type, the most of them are α and γ fibrous texture; and the strength of the texture is gradually weakened during the recrystallization annealing, the texture can be transformed into γ fibrous and the grains of annealed strip are gather together near the {111}<112>. The weaker Goss texture also appeared, and its strength is stronger closing to the central of the width of the plate. With the content of manganese increasing, the hot rolled plate recrystallization rate is increased, and the grain size and favorable texture component of annealed strip is increased, which improve the magnetic properties. The iron loss of high manganese 50W470 non-oriented silicon steel is lower than the ordinary low manganese 50W470 products, the magnetic induction is higher than the ordinary component. The magnetic is different in different parts of the 50W470 non-oriented silicon steel’s annealed strip studied in the experiment, whose middle is better than the head. There still exist the problem of the magnetic properties is heterogeneous at the strip head and middle part.
