This study mainly focus on the methods of antibacterial treatment to the MDF, searching the antibacterial MDF technology that can be applied on the production line. It includes three parts.1. Preliminary researching stage of antibacterial treatment of MDF:put the commercial MDF into the nano-silver based antibacterial agent in some certain conditions, let the surface of MDF covered by the antibacterial agent.There were some main problems in the pre-experimental stage:(1) soaking process can destroy the mechanical properties of MDF, the long soaking time and more soaking circles, the more loss of mechanical properties of MDF. (2) the antimicrobial agents is not stable, if the antibacterial process was exposed in the air light for a long time, its chemical reaction will occur so that the antibacterial properties may be reduced, so this method is not suitable for production in the MDF’s factory.2. The formal experimental study stage:in this stage the antibacterial agents of diatoms nanocomposite photocatalyst liquid carbon, LS-500 photocatalyst wax and LS-E001 pyran polyamine polyester(CAPP) were used to treat the MDF in different diluting multiples by spraying and brushing methods.The results of this research show that:(1) the properties of MDF decreased with the increasing of antibacterial agents diluting multiples under both treating methods, and the properties of MDF under brushing way were better than that by spraying. (2) the density and the TS of MDF increased under both treating methods, and the rate of water content of MDF were changed so little as to be unnoticeable. (3) the diameter of inhibition zone of MDF treated by brushing was bigger than that by spraying. The bacteriostatic action of three antibacterial agents to positive staphylococcus aureus was better than that to negative Escherichia coli, and the diluting multiples of antibacterial agents was lower, and the bacteriostatic action was better. The bacteriostatic action of diatoms nanocomposite photocatalyst liquid active carbon to the negative Escherichia coli was worse Compared with that of LS-500 and LS-E001, but best to positive staphylococcus aureus between three bacterial agents.3.The stage of production simulation:the stage mainly study the way how to add antibacterial agents during the production. The study has been shaped in two ways:(1) the first method was that agents were sprayed on the surface of embryo of MDF; (2) the second method was that agents were sprayed on the backing plate. According the Japanese industrial standard JIS Z2801 to evaluate the antibacterial properties of MDF.The research shows that:(1) the Y-LS-500 did not meet national standards, the other specimens met the national standard; the mechanical properties of plates that were treated by LS-E001 were better than others. (2) the antibacterial properties of specimen were still effective after high temperatures and press, and LS-E001 was better than others. E.coli antibacterial rate of Y-LS-E001 reached 90.05%, and Staphylococcus aureus antibacterial rate reached 97.6%.
